vert or no vert

Lets hear it how do yall feel about fixing up a GT VERT? I have one but it just doesnt seem like a drag car to me but it is nice to have when the weather is nice.
So would yall fix up a Vert or trade it and get a hard top?

fix it up.

it won't be as fast as a coup mod for mod but it will still be a fun car.

hell my buddy has a nitrous vert running 6.8's in the 1/8th with a 150 shot ... so they can be a sweet drag car .. that you can in turn drop the top and go cruise around in .. no better feeling really ... vert FTW

a Vert GT modded IMO wouldn't be bad at all...extra weight and drag coefficient are a issue, and like HMUSN said, Mod for Mod, Coupe models will be quicker...that and putting sub-frame connectors are a must due to the massive flex a Vert body can have with moderate to big power.

but like MeZ put it...having a quick and fun car while having the option to drop the top and feel the breeze during a nice cruise....you get the best of both. I'll be building my '99 GT Vert for your occasional track and Daily Driver. So i say go for it.

verts are cool, i had the option of getting a vert or coupe when i was looking into stangs.. i test drove a couple verts and a couple coups and i didn't really tell much of a difference. i ended up with a coupe because its a daily driver and they look better imo..

i was in the same predicament. i like the look of coupes a lot more than verts...plus you dont have to deal with a lot of the problems associated with ragtops. but like these dudes are saying...the option to drop the top is pretty sweet. helps with the ladies too. all the girls want to go for a joy ride in your car

I'm a hardtop guy personally. I think they just look better. But go with what hits ya in the gut. If you love the look of the vert, then keep it and fix it up.

It depends on what your looking for. Verts can be fun in the summer, but they are also heavier, and if you live where it snows, then they can be a problem if you don't have another vehicle. It's all up to what your looking for though, so do what YOU want, and happy modding.

i love my drop top. Sure its an extra thing to maintain......but nothing beats being able to pop the top and enjoy a nice warm night or cool day. If i could do it all over again, I'd buy 2......1 hardtop, 1 convertible.

Ok, thanks guys, being that my 03 vert is in exelent shape, come on with the parts it is. Also, where I am located it is HOTTER than hell threw the summers but good weather for the most part threw the rest of the year. I can say I like the look of the coupes better but my car does not look bad either,

so with yalls encouragement I will be putting more parts in there...

Happy modding. And as usual, be sure to post pics of the modding process.
