cat back exhaust

Guys I am looking for the best sounding cat back to compliment my BBK Longtubes and BBK X-Pipe. I have Flowmaster 40 chambered mufflers on them and i love the way it sounds. One problem, tight now it goes from 2.5 inches into the Flowmaster mufflers and then to the 2.25 piping of the stock cat back ( Didn't have the cash before)

Well now I am looking for a nice cat back system, without mufflers.
First, can I even get a cat back without mufflers?
and second, am I losing valuable horsepower with the bottlenecking?

btw- I don't like the Loudmouths and magnapacks and no way in hell im getting those...so suggestions and opinions por favor.

Thanks

if you like the way it sounds now, stick with it.. id just go to a local muffler shop and have them cut out the mufflers and pipes and put some 2.5" back up with the flows

A buddy of mine used to have this setup. My favorite sound I have ever heard on a stang, so i got the same exact thing. It sounds fucking sick But am i losing big horsepower because it goes from the 2.5 inch to the stock 2.25 cat back with welded in Flowmaster mufflers?

I have Longtubes and X Pipe with welded in Flowmaster mufflers, stock cat back-STOCK CAT BACK lol...Dont cat back systems come with mufflers? I dont want to change my Flows, I love em. 1.Can I get a system without the mufflers and just the piping?
2. Am I losing a lot of horsepower due to the 1/2 inch restriction?

1. i answered your question *points up*
2. that would be a 1/4 inch restriction, 2.5 is going to have better flow than 2.25.. how much i don't know.. if it didn't then all these guys on here would just be paying for the price of two mufflers versus an entire catback

You can go to a exhaust shop and have them weeld your flows into some 2.5 exhaust piping...But my guess is that your flows are 2 1/4...So thus to run 2.5 pipes you will need to buy new mufflers...

Its better just to buy a flowmaster catback...

You answered the first question on your own. Just buy a Flowmaster cat back. Yes, you are losing HP do to the bottlenecking.
