Question about New Gears??
OK i just put new 3.73 gears and i want to know how many miles you need to brake them or befor i can floor it! plz let me know thanks

500 is the typical suggestion. Then change your diff fluid at 500 to.

basically run them at different rpm levels.
don't just drive on the highway with them in fifth gear at 70. you want to start a nice even wear pattern on them. |

i understand that........
i just wasn't under the impression u needed to break them in...... i babied the car the first week i had gears, but that was cause my intake was cracked and leaking.... since i did the swap......wellll........she's seen 6rpms a few times... all in all i've only put a total of 500 miles on them.....the last 100 pretty friggin hard

thats all after the first 200 or so miles you should be fine to jump on it. |

man a 500 mile break in time would f*ckin suck for me cause ive only put a little over 800 miles on my so far this year.
