tuning

just wondering if it would be better to buy a programmer, tuner or
would it be better to go and let a shop dyno the vehicle and put a custom tune in the vehicle?

a dyno tune will provide the closest tune but if you mod more your going to need another dyno tune.

I would invest in a hand held tuner like the Xcal or a sniper.

question?? what is the difference if i buy a hand held or if i take it to a
shop and they tune it for me because either way i will be paying to get it
dynoed and pay for another tune.

Handheld Tunes are not quite as accurate, but you can do it yourself, whenever you add another mod. With a dyno tune, you gotta go to a shop each time for it to be re-tuned, and it can get costly. Thats why a Tuner is recommened unless you add major mods, like Heads, Cams, or a Poweradder.

i'm not real sure on the springs,i am the second owner of the bullitt.
the guy i bought it from, purchased it brand new and took really good
care of the car as you can tell.
from what he told me and i could be wrong he lowered it 1.5 but he
did it right,it has a camber kit and when i drive it,i don't get any bump
steer or anything and it handles really well.ALOT BETTER THAN MY SRT 10!!

well here is the deal on the tune.i live in san antonio,tx and
i deal with a shop called murrillo motorsports.
these guys are really good and deal with pretty much mustangs only.
they are charging me 550.00 for the tune and they said when i install
my supercharger,it will be an additional 250.00 but after that every time i go back it will only be like 25.00 dollars and that is dynoing the car everytime.but of course the initial tune they will dyno it also.
alot of you guys probably know them, they had a street driven mustang called the cracker and it ran 9's in the 1/4 and when it would launch it would do wheel stands.

I went there last saturday for a dyno. They seem to be pretty good, but the guy had some trouble starting the dyno...so i dont know...

It was my first time dealing with them though. I live in corpus christi btw, there isnt anything local where i can go for a dyno, but i dont think i would anyway.

Murrillo guys told me they charge 900 for a tune, or 450 if a have a tuner.

Then they told me doing cams is a 16 hour job, that kinda freaked me out.

Oh, and nice ride man!

I don't remember their names to be honest with you. The tall skinny guy that has a tx tattoo on his arm is the one that did the dyno.

All of them were in the office when they told me the price on the cams install.

They charge 500 for gears tho, including parts, which is not bad at all.

The price for a tune i got from them over the phone before i even went there.

Just ask them what software they tune with. Do they use a Xcal 2 or a DiabloSport? I'd buy the tuner until you get the SC then get it dynoed. Doing it before then is kind of a waste of money to me. You can store the dyno tune on the tuner and adjust it yourself if need be.

Ummm, if you are getting a dyno tune why are you selling the tuner? Don't they store the dyno tune on the tuner?
