What the hell can i do to jack my car up?
ok. Well i got my 1st oil change when it was in the shop getting inspected right when i bought it. Now its due for its next change, but i'm not gonna pay $50 to get it done.
How can i safely lift my car up? I really dont trust 2 car jacks holding the whole car up with me under it. Thats not safe at all. What can i do to? What do you do? P.S. I dont know anyone with a car lift so i dont have that option.

yeah i'll use the 2/4's to get the jack under the car. But ur sure the jack strand are safe. The car rest on only a small surface on the stand.

They are perfectly safe. The car won't move. Jack stands are the best unless you have access to a lift.

I had my old Contour on 4 jack stands for 2 weeks while I cut her up
(long story) accident/totaled/didn't want to pay to tow it.the jack stands did just fine in holding her up without any issues.

i made some ramps out of wood, i drive up on those then jack up underneath k member,
im a small guy so ramps work just fine for me getting underneath the car. but if you dont want to make use, do what hmsun said. jack up and then use jack stands

I drive mine up on some walmart ramps I have. Just put a 2x4 as an extension if you're lowered, and put a brick or something under the 2x4 so it won't buckle as you drive up it. Does the job for me.
Jackstands are also great. My car was on a set of walmart jackstands for over a month when I was doing the 4V swap. |

i use a single jack and no jackstands. fuck it. i'm still here right? i've been doing it for years, you just have to be smart about it and make sure its not gonna fall.

Id use four 2x4s', its easier to drain the oil with the pan parallel to the ground..Dont forget that new oil filter and WHERE on Earth are they charging $50 for an oil change?

i think i'll just try the 2x4's.... so u just jack ur car up and and place some 2x4's under the wheels? that seems easiest, just put the parking break on and place 2 or 3 2x4's and get under it?

If you're unsure don't do it. Your paranoia could cause a mistake. Stands are perfectly fine although I just lift mine on one side and that gives me enough room...
