Stock exhaust catback size??

What is the diameter of the stock cat back on the stock 99-2004 mustangs?? I was told 2 1/2" , .

Aftermarket midpipes are 2.5 inches and you can get catbacks that are 3 inches

3" are too big though, unless you have enough power to fully utilize the size difference.
