well if you mod it enough you can sell it as a race car. then another racer will most likely be buying it and give you most of what you have in the car because its worth more to him than to a dealer or someones who's just buying a mustang GT or whatever.

I toyed with this very same choice when I bought my GT. I decided the GT was the way to go. I saved about 8K to 10K by purchasing the GT. And let me tell you. For that 8K/10K that I saved...I stuffed it into my GT, including a Procharger, etc etc. etc. The car as quick (probably faster) , nimble and as fun as any Cobra, Roush or Saleen. I just didn't want to cut up Cobra and devalue it as a collectible. Hell, a GT will never be worth anything in the long haul. And when I get bored with mine, I can start on the body kit routine...

Thats why you sell it outright, because you will get more for it, rather than going to a dealer with it.

Yeah. But once I get the mach, ain't ever sellin it so I don't have to worry about that Wish I could say the same for my sixer....would like to get rid of it once I've got the mach but it isn't worth anything.

Save it, and turn it into a drag/ strip car.

My sixer? No way, that car isn't worth a thing! its got 183K on the engine, and is about to quit on me, I can feel it. It would cost more to make that car a race car than it would be worth.

Yea, but it could still be a fun project car. Oh well.

True. That's something I haven't thought about. Just might be an idea.

As far as if I can afford it, I guess I could but the price is simply double of a GT. Cobras go for about 30 grand(canadian but now it`s pretty much the same ) and a GT goes for about 15-19 so I`m wondering if it really worth it since I will use it as a daily driver and do not intend to race (street or track). Would you think I could be satisfied with a GT with a few bolt on or I`ll end up regreting anyway?? I`ve been waiting for so long, I don`t want to make a mistake.. :wink
Well considering that you do not plan to heavily modify the car or race ever, I say get the GT. It'll suit all your need and save you money. If the day comes that it does not suit your needs, mod it until it does. :wink

Definitely get the GT. I can see spending the money on the Cobra for some pride of owning one or just for the name, but for performance you can make the GT faster with less money and you can do it gradually so you won't break the bank off the line.

Yeah, I gotta agree. if I'm paying that much I'm coming home with at least a modded Mach or a Terminator.

Robbed is a sweet term. I would say raped, no vaseline and with a horse's stick! For 22K I can get an 05+ and have some money left for mods...
