I know you need an impact wrench to loosen up the alternator pulley. But do I need to use the impact wrench to loosen the crank pulley? I can't seem to fit my impact down there without hitting the fan. I've tried doing it by hand but it seems like its not having it. Any suggestions?

i put a ratchet with a prybar on the end of the ratchet and it came off and then just use the harmonic balancer tool to pull it off.

put the tranny in first w/ e brake set. i used a 2 foot breaker bar on the crank pulley nut. if it still spins, use a floor jack and position it under the crank pulley. jack it up just enough to put some tension on the crank pulley to keep it from turning.

I got it down. For some reason it spun a little in 1st, but took sonicblue's advice and put it in 3rd and got it off.
