good exhaust combo

i tried doing a little searching but wasnt successful. theres a lot of topics on mid-pipe catback combos, but im lookin for more.

im looking for a set of longtube headers a nice mid pipe(preferably H) and a catback, so a full exhaust. only constant in the equation would be SLP LM2's. if you think somethin else sounds better i'm interested.

also, the setup im running right now has O/R exhaust and is illegal where i live so im thinkin of a catted system. i guess im wondering, is a catted system going to bottleneck performance of future mods(engine), or make that big of a difference?

whats a good combo headers+mid-pipe+cat-back?

It all depends on how you want it to sound.

Check out sound clips online, but the best thing for you to do would be to check out a car show and hear the sound live.

Good list of sound clips (all different setups):

If you are determined to run SLP LM 2s, I'd just get a all SLP set up. I know it's not a H pipe, but straight through exhaust sound better with a X pipe. SLP LT headers are one of the best on the market. The X pipe is made in three pieces so you can put the cats on for inspection and take them off the rest of the year without removing the entire X pipe. The cats or the O/R extentions just bolt on. Beside the exhaust sounds a bit deeper with the cats on, but it is a bit quieter too.

People like BBK's LT headers. They seem to do good and don;t cost near as much as the SLP. Of course if you want my opinion... SLP

I heard a set up on You Tube of an 01 Cobra w/ Kooks Long Tubes, O/R X and Borla XR1's...

All I have to say is DAMN.

Type in 01 Cobra on You Tube and it's like the second video down (picture of a black Cobra). Check it out...

Some do and some don't. Like Borla for instance, imo sounds better with an H, where as SLP Powerflos sound better with an X, but imo SLP Loudmouth 2's sound better with an H or Prochamber.

Borla are not straight through exhaust.

Yes they are! Straight Through is when you can see right through the mufflers, and you can with Borla. Check their website, because it says it on there as well.
