If you are even worried about it just get the catted X. My car is pretty loud with the magnapacks but at cruising speed they are pretty mild. Of course I don't have LT headers.

Help do what?
If this is a tough issue for you get the best of both worlds. Get a Bassani or a SLP X pipe. Both are made in three sections so you you can bolt the cats on and off. If you like the O/R sound you can keep the cats off until inspection time, bolt them on for inspection and then take them off afterwards. Those are the only two X pipes with bolt on cats that I know of.

Get the off road. Your going to want it the extra sound if you dont have it. And its not going to be cray loud unless you are a funny bunny.

there are very minimal gains with not having cats, personally i would get the catted xpipe which is what i have.
that way you do not have to worry about bolting up the old exhaust every time you need to get the car inspectd.

If you want a quiet Mustang with good tone get Flowmaster and a catted MRT H pipe. It will give you the sound you want without being too loud.

The MRT won't be that quiet of a pipe bro, trust me. The cats so damn small in size, and are opened up quite hollow too, so there really isn't much restriction. The only reason the cats are on it are to pass emissions, and they made sure that they were just big enough to do so and thats it, because these things push the limit of being almost O/R.

I forgot to add though, that the Flowmasters will be quiet though, but thats because Chambered always sound quieter, until Headers, Heads, and Cams are done, then it's a different story. Although Straight Through will almost always be louder, just avoid SLP LM 1's though.

You know I've got the Catted X-pipe and it's still loud.

X-pipe are louder than h-pipes.

If You live near houston in TX I'd be willing to "Show" You1

I heard some X-pipes in person, and they arn't really louder, they just have a higher pitch, with an exotic tone and a bit more rasp, where as H pipes are deeper, and have a loud growl, with almost no rasp.

Yeah I never said it would be whisper quiet with cats. I know X pipes are louder than H, that is why I said he should get a catted H pipe with Flows. He'll have good tone without a lot of volume.

You guys must have only heard stock H-pipes. Aftermarket H-pipes sound just as loud as the X-pipes. I have heard both in person with different set-ups, and the only difference has been the tone. The volume is about the same, except the H is deeper, and the X is raspier most of the time, an not quite as deep.

I have a catted x pipe and love it!

Its just a tad deeper than an o/r x, but not as deep as an H.

Theres also no rasp at all! i love it
