i think ill be round 300 rwhp

when i bought my 99 gt it just felt faster. it already had slp loud mouth w/catbacks. i took my buddie for a ride in it when we where home for a few days from afghanistan, we both thought that it felt unusually quick for the type of car and year. my friend has a 2001 ss camaro, so he knows what quick feels like. anyway his car is round 300 rwhp stock. we never lined them up, but he was on my butt and i tromped on it, he just kinda hung. he is getting a cam and tourqe converter and udp's, headers and a tune. i know there is no way i could keep up but there is always something faster. now remember we are not home from afghanistan yet to run em, but we will i will let you know how bad he beats me. my mods that i think will have me running a solid 300rwhp are as follows

bbk ceramic long tubes
bbk udp's
bbk plenum w/bbk 75mm tb
hurst short throw
king cobra clutch kit
and motive 3.73 gears
and either a x-cal2 or a flash and it will be tuned by pauls high performance. third week of sept. im penciled in

I would be impressed if you can put down 300 rwhp with bolt-on 99 GT. Not saying it's impossible with an agressive tune but let us know. HP numbers will vary from dyno to dyno depending on the type. One of the best indications is going to be what you run at the strip. Track prep, traction, and driving ability all play a part as well. Good luck with your quest for 300.

I'll add that you'll be somewhere in the 250-255 rwhp range. MAYBE with a great tune (just don't over do it, just to get the numbers) you'll hit 260's with the tune. Just don't get your hopes up.

i have heard what people say bout the hp for the mustangs. i bought mine used it just feels faster than the ones ive testdrove in the past. even my buddie with the ss thinks something feels different bout the car. i got the bolt ons and i will see what paul can do with it. if i get 260 i wont be impressed, but these musgtangs were not built for speed. i like the looks and its fun to drive. we mustang owners know we got the short end of the stick when it comes to hp, some words of wisdom "THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING FASTER". it will be nice just to be a little faster than most of the other stangs in my town, if i went one town over i might get smoked but whatever. really if you want hp you are better off with cubic inches. maybe drop a 351 in her later? it seems like a lot of people are turning there mustangs into "fast and the furious" cars instead of the american muscle car it was ment to be, to each his own. i did not mean make any body mad these are just my views.

Yeah but you didnt buy a car that was at the time just built for speed. Theres a reason they don't make your buddies camaro anymore, and they still make a stang. It was cheaper although less horsepower but still fast. I think with those mods you will make around 260 rwhp easy...

1999 Ford Mustang GT 5.5 (0-60) 14.1 (1/4)

SS: 0-60 in 5.3 seconds, 1/4 mile in 13.7 seconds @ 105.6 mph.

With those mods I can't say that youd beat him but in a race youd really hang with him.

yeah your right. i did hear from a reliable source at dealership that part of the reason they stoped making camaro is that most people didnt want that much horsepower and the mustang was more user friendly fast but not too fast. and i agree that i will make 260 hp easy but we will see. im gonna get a dyno ill let you know.

You have absolulty no chance of hitting anything close to 300 WHP on anything close to a accurate dynojet

255 max, considering you don't have all of the intake boltons probably not that much, espcailly without a custom tune.

I recently dyno on a Mustang dyno with my Mach. I have most bolt-ons (longtubes, o/r x, catback, intake spacer, CAI, Predator canned tune). My numbers were 295 rwph 320 rwtq.

You would've hit 320 on a dynojet dyno

yeah but a dyno jet is not as accurate as a mustang dyno. a dyno jet is like testing every car like its the exact same car. your not going to get 300 rwhp with those mods! and your buddies camaro doesnt have 300 rwhp stock either. and i have personally driven a completely stock 99 ls1 trans am too a 12.9 et. so that 13.7 is a really shitty driver. that was on stock tires, gears, exhaust i mean completely stock. that was my car before i did all of the extremely fun stuff with it! anyways good luck getting that 300 rwhp bolt on stang. id like to see it!

i will have a custom tune, but even if i dont get 300hp i wont be too upset its not the end of the world. if i do get up there round 300hp i will let you know and if i only have 240hp i will let you know. im not home yet to mess with it. i am a mechanic in afghanistan now. i will be doing alot of the stuff myself but i will have pauls hp tune it for me. like i said before there is always something faster. i have dressed it up a little on the exterior and the interior. smoked w/clear corner headlights, clear fog lights, blacked out park light,8 in billet antenna, black tint, hurst tee handle, 4 billet peddals, white face gauges, and a 2600 dollar system. my car is black w/leather. so if i dont hit 300hp now oh well she still looks nice.

they make around 260 but that is at the engine! when we are telling him hell make around 260 that means hell make 260 to thehweels. your cobra makes 320 at the motor but will only get about 250-270 of it to the gorund. you lose sometimes 25% through the drivetrain

if you think 300 to the wheels your gonna be dissapointed big time. to the crank i can see but def not to the wheels. with all the bolt ons minus headers im at 250 to the wheels through and automatic so with a stick thats about 270-275ish. with minimal mods not including heads/cams i don't see it making 300whp n/a.

i went to a mustang dyno day and all the stock 99-04 GT's were in the 220's for power to the wheels. alot of them were autos. a bone stock 05 dyno'd 279 to the wheels and it was a 5 speed. those 3v's make good power from the factory and are underrated as well.
