driveshaft removal

The throwout bearing in my 99 GT went out, so I'm taking the transmission out. I got everything off OK until I started taking the driveshaft out. The bolts that hold the driveshaft to the rear axle yoke are really tight, and I can't get them loose. I don't think they should be torqued as tight as they are, should they? Even if I'm really reefing on the wrench I can't get them loose, and I don't want to break a head off. Is there a trick to getting those out or something?

i just upgraded my drive shaft and those bolts were a pain in the ass. Think how much tension is on that... I just used the wrench trick to get more leverage to torque them out... best way to describe it (still not well) is you have the closed end on the bolt, open end down. Use another wrench (play around with it) and one way it will lock and let you go one direction with leverage. Very bad description but maybe someone else knows what im talking about and can describe it better.

But basically yes they are a pain and just need more force to get them out.

all the bolts have loctite on them from the factory, 90% of them are a pain in the ass. you will have to work the hell out of them but will come free.

spray them with goo-gone or goo-off. It will eat away the cement slowly... (Third world country secret revealed) It works.
