Hellion

OK well i was looking at Hellion's website. It says on their kit for the 99-04 GT, it says it comes with a Y pipe. Does this replace the X/H pipe? I'm sure this is normal and i just didnt know this, but wont that greatly effect the sound of the exhaust? and the flow?

How do you usually run a midpipe with a turbo? i mean a Y actually does make sense, but WHY a Y lol?

^ thats what i'm curious about... How do ppl usually run turbos? I mean i thought about it, and a Y seems like the best way to get more exhaust to the turbo but man, ur exhaust will be shitty.

How do you usually run a midpipe with a turbo?

If i do anything with my car, it will be a turbo. Less drag on the engine. Just like stock MPG under normal driving. No boost until slam it.... the list goes on and on why its sooo much more practical than a s/c

that kit is running a single turbo... that means it technically has two Y's one pulling all the exhaust together before entering the turbo... and one way out back that splits the single down pipe into to pipes so you can bolt on your after market GT exhaust kit... or w.e the hell you want.

If you don't use that Y pipe then you could always go with the single exhaust and look like a sixxer

^ but why would you wanna look like a sixxer with a GT? I guess i'll just get twin turbos so i can run it off an x pipe. A single exhaustw/ a y will not sound half as good as duals with an x

but the y pipe is after the turbo, so it would essentially be less productive if theres something thats preventing that exhaust from going out

its a reverse Y pipe

it takes a Single down pipe and splits it into 2 exhaust pipes to run out the back...

there is no mid pipe with the hellion kit, its called a double barrel and its a pipe that runs from the turbine, straight back, it connects to the Y pipe and that hooks up to your cat back. I can get some pics if you would like ?

depends on what system you get... the one energie posted doesn't... all the pipes on the left and under the tranny are after header, but pre turbo on the hot side, on the right its after turbo on the hot side....

some do some don't...

not necessarily they can mount pretty much any where on the exhaust path...

For example the kit that chris torres got had new turbo manifolds, because they were bigger and flowed better then his stock ones, but they cam together in front of the engine and the turbo is mounted in the area in front of the water pump... ish
