BBK Valve Covers

Has anyone installed a set of the BBK valve covers? Your experiences? I can tell you my experience was quite trying and went far beyond the instructions to get them on. I'd like to hear what others went thru to install theirs...

Could you be more specfic about the problems with the drivers side install and how did you overcome them?

What was the problem when utilizing them with a boost application?

No leak issues here as long as you install the washer spacers in the gasket between the valve cover & the cylinder head. I could see them leaking without the spacers as they are designed to prevent you from over tightening the bolts which would cause the gasket to push out of position. The other problem is you cannot use the OEM gasket with these valve covers. You have to use the BBK special gaskets.

I do, but I am somewhat computer iliterate. Not sure how to post them. I have pics of the BBK gaskets & spacers installed, as well as the finished product. I was just looking for some specific answers to the questions posed. And since it appears that you have been down the BBK valve cover install road previously as well as the blower install, your answers would be helpful and informative. I just felt that the instructions were junk and make it appear that these are an easy install. In fact the instructions state 1 to 2 hours to install. What crap that is. Maybe, and I mean maybe, if you had installed 10 sets previously. I would have expected more from a company such as BBK. The instructions over simplify the installation and fail to mention numerous steps & removals to get the drivers side on. The passenger side, you could actually install it without removing the coils & injectors even though the instructions state to remove them. Hell, I installed my Eibach Sportlines, shocks, MM Caster/Camber Plates and Bump Steer kit in a shorter amount of time. These things were a Bitch.

Okay, I'm in the dark ages. I'm not sure what you mean by putting pictures in my garage, but yes I have the capability to upload pics from a floppy disc to my computer. I thought the picture would have to be hosted by someone else to be up loaded to this site. Guess not?
I'd still would like Sonic's input...

The BBKS are a royal pain in the ass... The driver side is easy, the passengerside is impossible with the hydroboost unit in place and clutch cable. I had to remove my hydroboost unit completely so then once I finally got everything on I had to bleed my brakes and power steering... Only to find that they leak like a bitch............

They make a carbon fiber looking valve cover that is identical in size to stock and looks pretty good.. Otherwise, just go stock.

exactly what he said. it was just a pain to take all that shit off. sorry it took so long to get back to you on that, working long hours this week. anyways i now have team breed valve covers. they look good and he will engrave anything you want on them. http://www.bullittmansparts.com/TB-index.htm
the bbks were installed right, they just leaked a little bit of oil and it would constantly have a small amount of smoke coming out the engine bay. they arent bad for n/a i just wouldnt recomend them for boosted apps.
