Few questions about that little beast called ...the Mach 1!!

Hi you Mustangs freaks !!! I was back in my home town a couple days ago on vacation and happend to stop by a Ford dealer to see what they had in stock and bumped face to face with that pretty thing..a 2004 Competition Orange Mach 1. Since I used to change cars on a more than a regular basis(and lost so much money...), one of the salesman recognised me and offered to take it out for a ride...alone!!!( quite rare for that type of car...) and I did...I was considering buying a GT but that half a hour ride made me change my mind and I think the Mach 1 is the car for me. Is 26500$(canadian) (now about 26555$ for you my south neighbors ) would be a reasonable price for such a car(5 speeds with 17000 km(about 10625k miles) in perfect shape?? For how much does a Mach goes for in the States approx??And finally, is a Mach really gonna become a collectible item in the future like the old Mach`s did??

That price seems a little high, but what do you expect from a 'stealership'...

I've spent A LOT of time in the classifieds section at the Mach1 registry (after my Z/28 was totaled, I was very close to pulling the triger on a Mach1, but my bowtie love was just too strong) and you can find plenty of good cars out there for under $23K and the price is dropping steadily.

If I were you I would stay away from a dealership car and try and find one from a private seller. These cars are so new that 70% of the time you'll be buying from the original owner and can really find out what is done to the car. Buying a car like that from a dealership is always a little risky no matter how nice it looks on the outside.

Good luck with the hunt! They are amazing cars, and I doubt you will be dissapointed with one.

Not to steal the thread, but everytime I see your car, it reminds me of Jared's car. He's the guy from www.Ricekiller.com and his Camaro looks like yours, except his is dark blue. Both cars are sick though.

I think I`ll seriously take that advice and take my time to find the right one and after I felt the power of this car, I don`t think I`ll be disapointed either my friend :wink

cars in canada are expensive, i ve been looking in auto traders and holy god your cars are cheap. That is a bit expensive but you can look at it as buying a new car (almost),17000 its not even broke in yet. i bought my 03 gt for 21000 (on the road) with 27000 km 1 year ago. (you only live once)

Holy hell, that seems seriously high, even for Canada! I'd wait. I think they will drop that price down after they can't get get rid of it before winter. Mustangs are hard to sell in the snow. The other option being like most people have said, to buy the car down here and drive it back. I love the competition orange too. I'm not sure why, but I just really love that bright ass color with chrome wheels. Mmmmmmm! LOL

I got my Mach on Ebay It runs perfectly fine and I bought it for 11,800 with 25,000 miles on it. Only downside... salvage title. You couldn't tell it was though by looking at the outside except the aftermarket headlights and no vinyl on the hood. The only problem I've had with it was an electrical problem that occured from the wreck and didn't show its ugly head until a half year after I bought it. Just some mangled wires but it cost me a grand in labor for them to finally find it. It runs so much better since it was fixed though.

$26K?? They're outta their minds. No way I'd pay that much for a mach. You can find them for around 17-22K depending on condition/mileage etc. I wouldn't even try for that one unless u think you can get the dealer to come down by at least 5 grand.
