T45 or 4r70w???
Im in a bind between getting a T45 or a 4r70w to replace my 3650....
Im trying to figure which would be the cheaper route to go: For the T45 I have been told it will bolt up fine, but I will need either a spacer for my driveshaft, or a driveshaft from a 99-00 car. I will also need a new shifter and clutch? Anything else? The one I have my eye on is coming from a fresh rebuild with new synchros, clutch forks, etc.... The guy selling wants $600 for it The 4r70w is gonna be a little more tricky. The price isnt but $275, but it has 130K miles on it, but still drives fine. I would want to get the internals rebuilt, what all would that consist of? Also, I realize I would have to have a wiring harness, and a shifter, a new converter... and if i got the auto, I would probably go ahead and get a line lock. What else? Also, would the auto be okay with my Mac Longtubes? I vaguely remember someone saying some long tubes dont fit with automatics, but cant remember which ones... For the price differences up front, I just want to know which is going to cost me more in the long run. I would enjoy either... so im not biased toward either Thanks, Cody
