Throttle Body

Alright I just ordered my RAI for my Mach and now I'm looking at throttle bodies. I didn't know if I should go with a 70mm or a 75mm. I've heard that 75 is too much for cars that aren't modified that much but I was assuming that to be a GT and I didn't know where a Mach fit in that. I have an exhaust and RAI that's it as far as performance mods. For those of you who might forget its a 4V not a 2.

I don't know how much I'll mod it. When I get out of school I'll definitely mod the hell out of it, but for now it has to be dependable on the road. I won't do anything more than a tune, gears, and a throttle body. That is until something else that isn't major comes around and catches my eye. But no gas or S/C. I really want to keep it under 400hp to make sure the engine lasts.

Anyone have a good estimate of what I am at hp wise with an exhaust and an intake. Machs are sometimes rated at 320hp even though Ford said they are 305. I'm guessing I'm somewhere around 330-340, but I'm just guessing too.

Yeah that is what I was thinking. You are thinking GT TBs when you have a twin bore throttle body.

the stock peice is twin 58's. the aftermarket is either 62 or 65. either one will work, up to him.

If you plan to continue modding you Stang woyldn't it be kind of pointless to buy the 62 when the 65 flows more? There is a even bigger one from accufab if you plan to go over 500 HP.

+1, "go big or go home". You might as well get the larger TB now, it's not gonna hurt you. It will only be more beneficial the more you start modding. Even a 75mm on a GT isn't gonna hurt you over a 70mm. The worst that will happen is you will initially see no difference between the 62mm & 65mm TB. But once you start modding... you will.

the big oval its kind of like the 70mm and 75mm debate on the gt's. both better than stock, but how much modding is going to get done for sure?

i read a book on how to mod your mustang and they did dino tests on all the parts as they put them on, and the 70mm made more power than the 75mm with basic bolt ons. i guess it depends on what your goal is, eather way there both better than stock.

Well I'm thinking of the here and now because there is no way I will be able to afford a S/C in the next few years. After I get my doctorate I shouldn't have a problem with buying a new TB. So would a 62 be better for now then?

His car is a 4V and you are quoting a test on a 2V. His car flows better than our. The same rules do not always apply.
