seatbelt

My friend's Mustang is having problems with the seatbelt not retracting after using it. Is there something you can do pretty easily to fix it?

I've had two Mustangs with no real seat belt issues.

Ive had two, a 1996 GT and now a 2001 GT and had the same problem with both...Its not that the seatbelt binds inside the shute its just that the seatbelt safety locking mechanism (the thing that makes a seatbelt work in the event of an accident) is garbage...Every time I take mine off I start flailing my arm around like a mental patient trying to get it to retract...Nothing you can do about it unfortunately, as much of a pain as it is they will WORK in the event of a collision (I know) and its not worth replacing with a different model or hardware. Maybe they keep doing it every year for nostalgia purposes. UPS trucks actually have an easier seatbelt to manage..how funny is that.

I've had 4 Mustangs and never had a problem with the seatbelts.
