First runs at the strip
Well, I went to the track for the first time last night. My first two runs I had to get used to things, and basically spun out both times. I'm pretty sure next time I will be able to get 13s easy. I was running stock gears and street tires, with the mods in my sig.
Hopefully next time no winds, and some better shifts ![]() Track Conditions: 54 Degrees F Relative Humidity- 0 Absolute Barometer- 29.23 Winds- 10-15 MPH R/T- .280 60'- 2.128 330- 5.967 1/8- 9.139 MPH-77.95 1000- 11.841 1/4- 14.120 MPH- 98.98

It was real fun. My times went down every time I made a pass. This was definitely a learning experience. I am hoping for some better E/Ts next time around, and hopefully its not windy.

Nice job dude...Get that 60' down a lil bit and you'll have 13s no problem. Not to mention it was your first time running the car, so you'll get the hang of it....
Im sure you know, but that lowering kit you plan on doing this winter is gonna kinda hurt your traction a lil bit....If you decide to go with some DRs, stick with Mickey Thompsons I have em' on my trans am and that thing dead hooks....Ive cut a 1.6 60' on those tires before, but I hit the damn rev limiter in 1st AND second. That woulda been a low 12 second run...daammmnn

How will it hurt my traction by getting new springs?

lowering springs throw off the weight transfer a little bit thus leading to a lose in time. but just get some control arms and go for it.

I'm sure you guys will know more about this than me. But does that wind factor play a lot into times? It wasn't a full on head wind, it was more of a head wind blowing to the front/side of my car. What E/Ts could I expect with the better track condition?

Your track conditions were pretty good already. The Barometric pressure was low though.

Yep! Lowering springs will hinder weight transfer........Not sure how it works in the Mustang world, but disconnecting the front swaybar on fbodies does a world of change...Helps all the weight transfer to the rear of the car....
And aren't most GTs supposed to hit 14.1ish stock anyways?? My buddy ran mine one night when I had my TA at the track and only managed a 14.3@98. I wont bring up the fact that my 93 Fbody ran 14.0s stock, and that technology is a decade old Hahaha, Im only kidding guys. Relax
