Tranny Fluid change??

Hello All....I just joined you all can see I introduced myself in a different section!

I have a 2000 GT 5spd. I almost positive it has the T45 tranny in it.

Now... I have been debating for a couple of months now bout changing my TRANNY Fluid. But I have heard different opinions about it. I have heard it is a closed system and never need to be changed or it can be changed with specific fluids.

Help me out here...I want to do it...but don’t if it will hurt me. I was thinking about the Royal Purple synchromax.

Any suggestions will help... :wink:

Welcome. And I would suggest changing the fluid every 30k miles. Whoever says you dont need to change fluids at sometime, is full of shit. I run the Royal Purple Syncromax in mine.

Thats Funny....Because the person(S) who told me was the FORD dealer. They also said the same thing about my 94 Ford T-bird with the 4.6L Auto. They told me not to change the tranny fluids. But i have heard more on to change then to not to....So I will be getting it done Soon. Thanks for the info...

^ they dont want you to change your fluid because they want to install a new transmission for you.. i changed mine when i first got my car, i ran mobile 1 synthetic auto tranny fluid. (yes you use automatic transmission fluid for these manual transmissions)
