The car is smoking???

So my car let's out a whiteish grey colored puff of smoke out of the tailpipes. It only does it after it has sat at idle for maybe a minute or two. It smells like nasty, eye burning exhaust. It does not smell like oil. Any ideas??

Yes. It did it about 5 times today and the car was hot every time.

OH NO! If you dont think it is oil (Quote) or fuel, it might be coolant I have seen that too many times man hope your head gasket didnt blow and start letting coolant into the combustion chamber and start making a weird smoke come out.........a special tool can check for radiator pressure leaks...also if you have to keep running it check your coolant levels and temps ASAP.................................it might be burning coolant verry sllowwwly but if it is going down in level then damn man that sucks.............message me if you have any questions or have any answers!

I've seen some stang put out white smoke, and they all say it had something to do with their valves.

I had a camaro with 120k that would blow out smelly ass white smoke but the engine was wearing down and about to go out. But that's odd for your engine to already be doing that dude. Usually if it's a head gasket that can do that you will get oil coming out of your pipes if it doesnt evaporate also the oil in your engine is kinda milky. but could be alot of things. My new cat back had a wierd smelling smoke coming out the back for about 3 days. Have you done any new mods?

I just the Pro chamber on there but it was used. I had an exhaust leak with it for a while. My buddy put his Diablo on it Thursday night. It I was running a bit lean at idle but was running rich at WOT. The car runs really good right now and it didn't do it when I cranked it up this afternoon.

I call BS... Everyone knows chevy's run forever! lol.

As for the topic, The O/R pipes will smoke more because at idle its letting more stuff out the pipes, no cats to filter it out. You said it only does it at idle?

And does the smoke disappear before it gets above the hight of your bumper?

It does it after it has sat at idle and then you rev it. It does npt smell like oil. It almost smells like gas.

And does the smoke disappear before it gets above the hight of your bumper?
It goes away fairly quick. But I really don't think it is not condensation. I'm not sure what it is.

If it smells like gas then you're running rich

The Diablo said it was running rich at WOT. Like I said it is running better than it ever has. Will I be able to correct this when I get my XCal3 ?

have you beat the hell out of your motor? if you've been pretty heavy on the gas through acceleration, it's probably a blown head gasket.
