what mods? my other thread got moved......

I'm having trouble picking mods. I thought about a throttle body and plenum but im not sure on brands and the throttle body mm ( 70-75- etc)

i also had in mind a intake but again not sure what to get.

I plan on getting a gear of some kind , frpp seems to be popular on mustangs from what ive seen but how are they priced. my gear for my 96 trans am when i had it was like $150 for a 3.73 and for my stang looks like $400 bucks or more for a gear. thats insane.. haha.

I do have future plans of a supercharger. im not sure if i want cent. or twin screw but I do love how the KB sounds. I love that screaming

the supercharger wouldnt come for a few years as ide like to pay this car off fully before i did a mod like that.

So does anyone have any suggestions for me? I need assistance with gear brand choice, throttle body size , and plenum brand.

I heard 75mm is for heavy modded cars so i was thinking a 70mm since mine is basicly going to consist of small mods.

I also plan on the b&m pro ripper shifter from summit

those are the only mods i had in mind, like i said im open to suggestions and welcome them.

also can someone tell me about changing spark plugs on my car. ive never seen them like this. do i have to take the fuel rail OFF??? geez. i see that each plug has its own coil.

ill wait on replys until i ramble more. thanks guys glad to be aboard.

If you are planning on supercharging i would get a 75mm tb, accufab is the top brand. If you do go with a twin screw like kenne bell (thats what i did) It will remove the plenum and intake. So leave your intake stock till you buy either your centi supercharger. Or dont at all if you get a twin screw (replaces the intake with their own).

Unless your charged or juiced your pi intake will be better than after market (for the most part). So save your money on an intake.

Gears get 3.73 if you are supercharging not sure on price or brands.... i already had mine in when i bought the car. Motive gears whine though.

Also on the tb... 75 will not hurt you but you will gain more from a 70mm till your heavily modded. You will still gain, just not as much as a 70.

frpp Gears $180 I reccomend 3.73's

75mm Accufab tb and plenum

Exhuast!

Headers Mid-pipe and a cat-back

And a tuner
Choose the tuner of the local shop You plan to tune Your car when it's charged.

since you plan on adding a S/C down the road, you may as well get a 75mm t/b now. it's not gonna hurt you. gears and a tuner would be a great first mod. a lot of people will say that the Motive brand sucks because they whine, i say bullshit. it's all about who installs the gears. if done correctly, they won't whine. i know this for fact because i have Motives and the guy who installed them did a fantastic job. no whine. if you decide to get a CAI, bear in mind with a S/C, it'll probably have to go. but you can get one now and then sell it when you get the blower. i recommend JLT as far as CAI's go. but your best bet for first mods are gears and a tuner. i run 3.73's. very nice difference over stock. for a tuner, i would check out the local dyno shops and see what software they're using to tune and go with that. it's most likely a Diablosport Predator or SCT XCal 2.

your tuner should depend upon what your tuning shop uses. it will make your life a whole hell of a lot easier

you'll be fine with a 75mm. i'm running one on my car and i'm still naturally aspirated, too.

as far as the spark plugs...

you do not have to take the fuel rails off. Just unhook the fuel injector to make it easier to get to the screws on the coil packs... and get a swivel socket to make a little easier on yourself.... and only do one at a time

Dont waste your time on the 373 gear unless youre certain you want the screw style blower.....for centrifugal types a 3.90 or 4.10 will be great and if you end up staying N/A nothing less than 4.10! Trust me, Ive had 373s, now I almost wish I had gone with 4.30s.
