It should interchange, but I'm not sure of a kit. I don't see why you'd want to unless you are doing autocross or road racing though.

Well live axles are only really good for drag racing, and i wont be doing much of that.

Actually live axles are better suited for going around corners than IRS in production vehicles in most cases. Take a look at Nascar, Trans Am, etc. IRS was developed as a comfort feature & gives a better quality ride. It was also utilized in transaxle configurations when there was no other method to drive trans axle units. The early Pontiac Lemans (early 60s) came with a live axle trans axle, but had durability problems along with serviceablity issues. All things being equal in a production car, I would take a live axle over independent suspension anyday for high performance road racing.

you might want to see if there are trans axle rebuild kits... to see if you can beef up the ... i don't know what they are called but on front wheel drives they are the CV joints...

see if you can rebuild those to be strong as hell...

thats the only things i can think of

The half shafts are what break the most .. and are expensive to fix .. you're really better off building a solid rear end if you're planning on dragging your cobra often

Wheelhop is the death of an IRS. Stop the Hop stop the breaking. Get a Billetflow Diff Cover Brace and change out the rubber bushings, MM has a great set also so does Steeda.

a friend of mine is contemplating on doing the same swap in his mach right now. it will interchange but you will have to change a couple things. exh., abs wires, brake lines, and caliper mounting are the ones i can think of right off the top of my head.
