I would just buy a 99-04 GT for a cheap or reasonable price, then either build it to be faster than a Cobra, or drop a 03/04 Cobra engine in it.

well i was thinking buying a cheap v6 and droping a cobra motor would be cheaper...and in the end the cobra motor would be faster then that two-valve. But if i get the v6 would i have to change out? i know its more then just an engine swap

you would be saving money if you just bought a Cobra.

there is so much to be fabbed man..

you need a new rear end
new drive shaft
new motor mounts
new transmission mounts
better suspension
new k member

and that's just some of it.

Buy a 96-98 Cobra. They will be cheaper and they have plenty of mods you can buy!

Do you want a Cobra or Mach one because they have more power over the GT? or for the looks? If you are goin for looks then get the car you want. If your going for some good power.....you can get that with a GT. but if your lookin for over 450 hp...your gunna have to beef up the bottem end of a GT. I am with HUMSN...a sixer would be a lot of work. I would go with 02stang gt. There are just too many variables with the little info you gave us. Just my .02

Well if you said it would be a while before you could do it... then I would just wait to see what the prices for each are when the time comes. But most likely Cobras will be cheaper by the time you want to get one, but then again 6ers will be dirt cheap. It's still a lot of work you will have to do to a 6 to get it ready to handle a cobra motor.

I'm going to go back to what I said at the beginning, wait until you can buy one and then look at prices. Don't forget to add in the cost of modding a 6 and go from there.

unless youve got some serious mechanic skills, forget trying to buy some heap ass v6. youre gonna spend WAY more money on the car, the new engine, the parts to make it work, and labor than you ever would on a used cobra.........

:homo

about the only advantage i would see to getting the V6 is that insurance will be hella cheaper as long as they dont find out you have a supacharged 4V under the hood

but then again, it will cost more to do the swap than to worry about the insurance

I have to concur with this, I'm building a GT for the track and it is amazing how differnt the two are. Save your nickels and get a Cobra!
