gears for an automatic gt


what is the best gear ratio for 2001 stock automatic gt...i haven't added any mods yet but i am going to eventually...

what would 4.10's put my cruising speed rpms of about 60 mph in an automatic at?

It'll be ok. My 5 speed with 4.10's at 70 sits at around 2k. 140 sits at about 4800 or so. Still plenty to go.

65mph = 2500rpm

Go with either 3.73 or 4.10 FRPP gears from www.americanmuscle.com and you'll be good to go.

I had 3.73's in it and I kick myself for not going to 4.10's. Get the 4.10's if you never plan on adding a Supercharger or Turbo. If you ever plan on going that route get the 3.73's cause with 4.10's you'll run out of gear to fast.

couple friends of mine has autos, the 4.10 is a great gear for them. one even says it is perfect, and it was even better when he was supercharged.
