URGENT -broke something!!!

last night when i was coming home a couple of friends of mine and i were doing joy rides lol we were kind of racing but nothing serious anyways one of the guys and i raced he has a 2005 350z i think it is well we were running and when i was about to get into fourth i heard a sound like something got out of place then when im about to put it into gear it didnt get in :/ i tried to get it into another gear but nothing so i stopped on a parking lot and tried to get it into gear but nothing happened i turned off the car the clutch was kind of free or something like that but i could still start the car when i pressed the clutch i just cant get it into gear
if the car is off i can put it into gear but i cant start it. so what do you think it is ? i need this fixed as soon as possible as it is my daily driver what do you think it could be? i dont htink i broke the trans but im not sure on the clutch maybe my clutch went south ? thanx and sorry about not putting dots or anything lol im kind of in a rush, could you also say maybe how much could it get to get fixed?

Sounds like you might have broken the clutch/ pressure plate. If you can do the work yourself I would take it apart and have a look. If your having a shop do the work, ask how much a clutch install would be.

it's more than likely the clutch. no it is the clutch. my buddies Bullitt just did the exact same thing a few days ago. all together for clutch/install/new cable and quadrant. $800

ahhh clutch problems.....always a bitch...my clutch used to slip like a mother fucker in my old car...if its that messed up that you cant get it into any gear at all you might as well invest in an aftermarket clutch and flywheel...probobly round 3-400 for it and not terribly expensive for the install if you cant do it yourself

But if you plan on modding it in the future it would have been worth it to upgrade it now.

Well i'm glad to hear that you got it fixed, but I agree with Redfire. I would have upgraded now, but it's all good.
