if the car has been properly maintained, it will be fine.

Yeah supposedly it will be fine....keep it under 400 whp
Reason i say supposedly, is cause i've popped my motor (30k miles, mild tune, well maintained) and many others have. Stock pistons and rods are garbage. Save up your $ do a short block first, then go from there. Minus labor, your looking at around 2k for a good short block setup...$1700 - $1800 for rotating assembly $200 or so for block work. Your stock heads will work just fine till ya want even more (cams never hurt) If you are doing the work yourself, keep in mind pulling the heads is a true bitch...if you can work it, build up your boosted long block, then slap it in.
