flywheel


i have an 01 gt....and its time to change the clutch and flywheel..ive heard about the bullshit about some 01s having 6 bolt and some having 8 bolt flywheels...i know i have a t 45 because i have an early 01...does the t45 have the 6 or 8 bolt flywheel?

if you have a Windsor engine, you have an 8 bolt crank. if your car was built in early '01, it's probably a Windsor with an 8 bolt crank.

look at the driver side valve cover - should be a white sticker on there. Look real close. There will be a bunch of numbers all over it, but in small print it will say "Ford Windsor" if youve got a windsor motor.

count the bolts holding down the valve cover. if there's 13, you have a Windsor. if there are 11, you have a Romeo. a Romeo will have a 6 bolt crank. don't know why i didn't say that in my previous post. i gotta stop smoking crack...

This SPEC Billet Aluminum flywheel has an 8 bolt main that is found in the 1999-mid 01 Mustang GT's with production date ending on 01/01, 1996-2004 Mustang Cobra's and 2003-2004 Mach 1's. Please check with your Ford dealer to determine if you have a 6 bolt or an 8 bolt main.
