How wide of a rim will fit on the rear of an 01 cobra irs

i have chrome cobra r rims on my 01 cobra when i bought it but i want to change the rears out with a fatter rim. should i put wider tires on the rims i have already 245x40 i think the rim is 8 inch wide. or should i jus get wider rims and how wide can i go??

also i found that my car had already ben lowered with eibach springs will i need to get CC plates because my car drives straight but i get a good vibration at about 70 mph. whats a CC plate to go with ?

You can fit a 275/40 on an 8 inch wheel, thats what i am running for my rears, but I would just go with a wider rim, I believe the widest you can fit is a 10.5 inch rear wheel. Not totally sure on your second question though.

Not sheer if this will help you but I think that the Suspension is the same in 01 and 03 but not sheer. But I know that 17x10.5 with 315-40-17 do rube with bullet wheels a friend of me had to use ¼ inch spacers To get them to fit on his 03 cobra

ya you cant fit the 17 x 10.5 in the rear because of the cobra rotors. If you check americanmuscle they say it will not fit our cobras

some guys run 11'' wide CCW's you'll need to shave your bolts & maybe a spacer.

not true. I run 10.5s on mine right now with plenty of room to the calipers. The only thing that you have to do is replace the irs bolt with a lower profile bolt that you can buy from american muscle for like 10 bucks or something.. Really easy to change. My tires easily tuck under the fenders. If you can, try a bigger tire..not sure if it is possible though..but the 10.5 inch rims are no problem after the bolt replacement..

You can go 18x11 with the ccw's in the rear of the 03-04 cobra with no rub .. nothing special ...

i agree. my buddy put 10.5 FR-500's on the back of his Terminator and the only issue he had was the IRS bolt. since we were doing the springs at the same time, he pulled the IRS bolt and shaved the head of it down to clear the tires. worked like a charm.
