o1 gt mods whats next?

hi, im new here , i have an 01 gt,mt . i have already put in a dynomax cat back system,70 mm upper plenum and tb,cold air intake, i recently got a 80 mm mass air and was told i need to calibrate for this , do the custom tuners like hypertech and sct do this and do i need to go with bigger injectors as well. also i was considering headers , is it worth the time, oh i also put in the bbk underdrive kit. thanks

welcome to the forums.

your Gt already has an 85mm mass air.
you don't need bigger injectors for a while yet.
Yes Tuners can Calibrate that though.
headers are a half decent mod but I would look into long tube's.

I would suggest gears for your next mod.

you would be down grading if you put the 80mm mas air on.

you already have an 85mm.

the headers will pick up a good 10HP.
and the tune would depend on what exact mods you have.

it should be in the range of 20hp though

Gears should be next, 4.10 if you are not going to supercharge or turbo and 3.73 if you ever do any of the for mentioned.

Something I did on my 01 GT was cams, I did stage one cause I wanted low end power. Also the stage one cams allowed power to stay constant once it hit peak all the way to redline unlike stock cams which started to fade off.

You have to remember, power is not everything. If you can not put the power to the ground then its not worth a damn. Suspension is worth it.

Since you have a 5speed then consider getting a short shifter, you'll hear a ton of opinions on whats best but by far more people like MGW.

Actually the 99-04 Mustangs have an 80 mm MAF stock. You can buy an upgraded 80mm MAF for the 99-01 Mustangs and you can get an 85 mm MAF for the 02-04 Mustangs

+1 3.27 for you, 80mm stock maf, stock injectors are fine to around 330rwhp, headers always a good thing, gears a good thing too. sct, diablo, and sniper will be the best tuners out ther. i use the diablo and have also used the superchips and hypertech, first hand experience i say they are junk!

I say go with a gear/ tuner kit. I got the Diablo tuner and 4.10 setup from americanmuscle. com. It was amazing what a difference gears will make and your gonna need the tuner anyway.
