4:10's are in!!!

So I got them installed today and the car feels QUICK! However, I am scared to really get on it so I can let them break in. The speedo is WAY off! They referred me to this place that will fix my speedo issue and my TB issue I have where my throttle sticks. I called the place and they said for a chip and dyno its $600. While that may be a good price I don't have the funds. Any suggestions on what I can do to get the speedo cal done cheap as possible? Keep in mind I just dumped $500 into the car. So cheap is a must! Thanks guys!

wouldnt I need some gauges or anything with a tuner so I can see what changes I am making? Do those tuners have data logging?

Exactly what I was thinking!

I may be wrong here (and please someone correct me if so) but I don't think gears are like a clutch that you need to break in. I have heard of people changing the fluid after a couple of hundred miles, but I don't think it's necessary. You should be good to go give it hell!

gears should be heat cycled.

they are moving parts and should develop a wear pattern on them before you beat on them.

the bearings inside the rear end should be seated.. yada yada..

it's best to break them in for a few 100 miles before launching on them.

Ah! Okay, thanks for the info. I knew (just like any new part) it's not a good idea to floor it IMMEDIATELY, but I didn't realize that breaking them in for a few hundred miles was necessary. When I had the 4.10s installed in my old car I was hammering it after just about 20 miles! I guess I got lucky I didn't grenade something!
