Bump Steer Kit
Anyone used a bump steer kit? Does it improve your car's handling at all, is it really noticeable compared to stock on a lowered car about 1.5"? Just wondering if it's really anything to bother with...

I installed the MM Bumpsteer kit on my GT and have installed them on other cars I have had as well. Definitely worth the dough. The improvement is most noticeable during hard cornering when hittng a bump or dip in the road. The deflection in the steering wheel is drastically reduced increasing cornering speeds as well as safety. I installed a set of Eibach Sportlines springs and could have taken the poor man's route by installing the offset rack bushings, which would get the bump steer a little closer. But there is no adjustment and it is what it is. I'm not sure whether it is a drag racing thing, but bump steer kits have been very popular with road racers for over 30 years. Shimming the tie rod ends is a little trial & error when fine tuning them, but still well worth it. Hope this helps.

I installed the bumpsteer kit along with the rest of the MM front end components that come in it's Max Grip box and all I can say is WOW!
The difference is leaps and bounds! Granted I replaced the K-Member, lower arms, struts along with the Bumpsteer kit but the car turns in so nice and smooth. Hardly any tire scrub at all! It feels like I'm turning a go-kart! ![]() John |

i like the bump steer kit on my car. i feel the difference, but i think you can't just change one parts in the front end you need to do it in a comb. like bump steer kit and ball joints.
