Setup question
Ok so long story short...after i get out of the air force, i plan on building up my car. This is going to be a few years out, but i want to be well researched before i do my next setup.
My last setup on my 04 gt was a P-1SC, 42# injectors, svt focus pump, 4R70W, MAFia, 3.73 gears, flowmaster 40's mufflers. I'm back to a "stock" configuration for right now...stock injectors, stock maf, but running air intake through sc not hooked up (i know dumb, but looking for a cheap intake) I will not run the s/c until i go forged since i've already blown one motor. I have a stock block that i plan on boring over 20 then putting a MMR rotating assembling in it...then maybe running stock heads with blower cams or maybe more not sure yet. Probably keep the car a 2v car since i don't plan on going over 500whp So two main questions i have (please back up with stats if ya have them) 1. Keep the P1-SC? 2. Carb or fuel injected? Thanks, Bob |

I'd keep if fuel injected. a KB is a great supercharger, its a twin screw so it makes almost instant boost. You will love this supercharger going around the streets and what not. As for the prochargers, they will take longer to make full boost, but they will make more power in the 3000 and up RPM range.

I'm not planning on drag racing this car every weekend....So since i have the Procharger already, maybe i should just do a forged small block...and build up the tranny to support

I did the reserch on the KB and webt with it best kit I have ever bought. I had the motor built around the SC. Not cheap but damn well worth it!

How much money to you have to spend? Set an objective..500 rwhp, then decide what you need to get there. I personally am not interested in change for change sake.If the Procharger will get you there then use it.

A "plan" for hp is kind of a funny thing...its just like working out...yeah i ran this far so why not run a little farther...yeah i lifted x lbs, so why not try to lift a little more...but yeah my plan right now is for around 500 whp. I want to keep the rest of the build to under 10k. Total price will include engine, suspension, and trans. So besides the P1SC and gears it will be a total build up. I have a block, and machining will be around $250.

keep it fuel injected, easy to work with and everything in the car is already set up for it. it doesnt take much to make 500whp, the p1sc will be able to get there without much problms. if you were to keep around a stock compression ratio and all supporting mods, the p1sc will get it there at around 15psi.
