don't waste money on axles, unless your on slicks. your old gears are fire just get new bearings, its a good idea.

You already have a posi, or a limited slip differential.

+1! The eaton LSD clutches will wear out and you'll be replacing them. Now I have heard some people say the true tracs are a little noisey and others say they are quiet as stock, but the true trac is your best bet. If you plan on running slicks or drag radials and plan on hard launches then I would step up to the 31 spline axles and true trac diff. If not they do make a 28 spline true trac. It's up to you and your driving style. I'm going with a supercharger down the road for sure and drag radials so I am building my rear end up...axles, diff, 3.73s, girdle, and a complete rear end rebuild kit. If you want a good price with free shipping on a true trac diff checkout this page.

You won't lose you gears from installing a diff. Just make sure that you either oder the 28 or 31 spline diff depending on if you are keeping the stock axles or upgrading to the 31 spline axles. If you purchase a master kit it should have everything you need.

Unless you know how to do it and have the right tools have a shop do it. If you have a shop do it they might have the right kit to install everything so you don't have to worry about it.

Not problem. If you plan on going FI at all or doing hard launches I would suggest going with a 31 spline setup and doing it right the first time. I'm not telling you how to mod your mustang I'm just looking out for your future interests that may come along.
