would a 5.0 short block roller motor fit in my 01 GT?

so your wanting to change to a pushrod motor? you could do it im sure. dont knwo what all is involved! why dont you just get a stroker 5.0 modular motor and get your heads ported and throw in some bigger cams. would be easier and might be cheaper in the long run. but yes it would fit.

thats what your motor is right? I was just looking through craigslist and they had a 5.0 shortblock for 400$. Just wondering though. When will yours be ready?

$4000 maybe? 400 i woudnt buy it.yes mine is a 5.0 but its still the modular motor. it uses the exact same demensions externally bu the internalls have a long er stroker therefor = more cubes. it will fit just fine inside your car. mine is supposed to be done next week. it was supposed to be done last week but hes gotten behind and s very busy. but im starting to get a little pissed. my engine is done, but just needs to be put back into thecar, get everything zipped back up and tune it up!

5.0 blocks are a dime a dozen, don't waste the money on trying to convert everything over to pushrod.
