Trans Problem (First Gear)

hi, lately i have noticed that my car i hard to get into 1st gear. when i stop at a light and try to put it in first to leave the only way it will go in is to ram it in or go to 3th first , and some times theres a clunk in the rear end right when i am putting it in gear, almost like theres something inside catching a bit. any ideas? oh its the 3650

that clunk in the rear end might be ur backlash in the gears in ur rear differential there kind of sloppy in mustangs and ur first gear synchro's might be damaged from making hard launches you might wanna have ur transmission looked at because i have had similar problems when i bought my 2001 cobra so i rebuilt trans.

i had the 1-2 synchro done just after i bought it. i guess its time for some more. jes i wonder how long it would last if i was pounding on it

? i try to baby it most of the time. So are these trannys junk or what?

could be shift pads, fork, twisted input, clutch adjustment, syncro's, or clutch is bad.

does putting it in second then first help?
