Triple Gauge Pod Hook Up

when i bought my gt the previous owner put in a triple guage pod in the A pillar. its not hooked up or anything. i was wondering how hard it would be to hook everything up. would it be better to just take it somewhere? or to just take it off? lol... how much would a shop charge for something like that? its just the oil, temp, and batt....

it depends on if you want practical functioning gauges... or some just for show

when i got my dual pod i bought a vacuum gauge and air/fuel

the vac gauge was just for looks... fun to watch it while playing with the gas pedal -- easy to install as well.. just run the vac gauge through the firewall and a wire to the lights

the air/fuel was more practical for me, but im hoping to be switching to a wideband setup soon (which is what i should have done in the first place)

it was a pain in the ass to install, and ended up getting a friend of mine to do it b/c he had to splice it into a wire at the computer.... put it on the wrong wire and computer is shot (at least thats what i was told -- wasnt taking any chances)

if I had to do it all over, im not sure what i would get besides the wideband

wideband... gives you the air to fuel ratio? what is the benifet of knowing this?

for all motor applications like mine, it doent do much more than my air/fuel gauge... just gives a you a precise number for your air/fuel... and it can datalog

but for power adders, it helps keep you keep a closer eye for extreme lean/rich spikes... especially if you do your own tuning (messing with timing, etc.) and some of the widebands come with software that compensate for different weather variables and what not....

im not extremely knowledgeable about what all benefits and what not the wideband has, but its better than the air/fuel I have now

gauges are about the most simplething to put in. It just takes patients, and common knowledge of wiring. Do not pay to get them installed.

Yea the wiring is easy. Got to autometer.com and they have instructions on there someplace. Its really simple! A ground wire, power wire, wire to the sending unit, another ground for the light bulb, and another power wire for the light bulb as well.

here.

let me find the link

Is it just me or is there not a link above this post? I was interested in the hook-up as well because I just bought a triple pillar and I'll be putting some gauges in soon too.
