I see, I probably will go use a torque wrench. Will it hurt if I torque it a tiny bit past 11lb?

man i've never seen so many differences in changing plugs LOL!! man i bet you are scared to death.if so just relax man i have a 99GT and i done mine in 30mins.no you don't have to remove any fuel rails or nothing.just remove the cops and change the plug.do use anti seaze like these guys said tho, cause metal and alum don't like each other when they get hot.just go ahead with the finger tightening first then run it on down once you feel it touch base you can go alittle past 1/2 turn but not alot.and you won't blow them out with this techniqe either.you don't need a tourqe wrench.so don't sweat it you can do it man.

3/4 of a turn is more than you will need to do. 1/2 turn is plenty...but though i never listen to my own advice, listen to gsjohnson, get a torque wrench and tighten to 11-14 ft lbs. You can get a cheap torque wrench from harbor freight for under $20...or if you want a nice one, they around $50 from craftsman.

One word of advice (that i actually follow)...Use the rubber insert (or magnet) when removing the plugs...BUT take the rubber insert out of the socket when installing. if you dont, you might get forget to check each time you put a plug in to make sure the insert is still there. The plugs pretty much fall in place.

hand tight, 3/4 turns with anti seize, if it feels to lose, then ill tighten a lil more.. thats what im doin..

Oh ya, and gsjohnson, I didn't get TR6's i got tr55's if there a difference. AUTOZONE looked up a 2000 Gt mustang and they had what all fit it. And the first thing I chose were the NGKs. And I'm changing them today at my friends house, he has a shop, WITH a torque wrench. l0l Can I hand tighten it, then the .5 turn, and then put on the torque wrench to see how tight it is? Or do you have to start with the torque?

That does sound like a good idea though, to go retorque them. But is it ok if I teghten them, and then put the torque wrench on to see how tight it is and whether I need to tighten more or not?

you dont need a torque wrench. Just hand tighten then go half a turn.
