Does Anyone Know? (Speedo Cable)

where the speedo cable is? my speedo is freakin out at times and the overdrive light flashes but only once in a while.what could it be? oh and i just dropped in a new motor to could that be why?

the 99-04 is electronic. the older mustangs are cable driven, but not the new edges.

incorrect.... 96+ have speed detectors or whatever they are called.....

sorry i worded that wrong. pre 99 are gear driven. the 99+ have what i guess you would call a pick up.

no trany is stock...didnt start until i dropped the new motor in... and it goes crazy like for 5 min then everything is back to normal
