Romeo or Windsor Heads

I want to look for a set of stock PI heads that I can get ported, polished and drop a nice set of cams in, But how do I know if I have Romeo or Windsor heads in my car now? I want to make sure I get the right ones... Then I just need to talk my wife into it....hmmmmmmmm I am thinking comp stage 2 cams..

Romeo heads have 11 valve cover bolts, Windsor heads have 13. Count em.

i think after 99 one side is 11 and the other side is 13. i will check i just bought bbk valve cover and i think thats what they said. i think

its a romeo...
96-98= romeo
99-00= windsor
01-04= romeo

actually an 01 is where they changed. some early ones had the windsor

windsor are known to blow out the spark plugs. Both work just fine. And if you are getting them worked over, they should correct the spark plug issue anyway. It doesnt matter if you use windsor or romeo heads. they are interchangeable. 11= Romeo and 13/14= windsor. My romeo motor is getting windsor heads put on later this winter.

the only real difference,besides how many valve cover bolts ,are the windsor has individual cam caps and the romeo has girdles,I prefer the windsors,because they are so much easier to change the springs(on the car). don't know if one system is better than the other thou
