Recipe for a Kenne Bell GT
Okay MM elite, I need the bolt on recipe for a Kenne Bell GT, no messing with engine internals just yet, I only want to run 10 psi. basically, what bolt-ons are recommended to prepare for this? I have 75mm TB and a C&L Truflow plenum, stock h-pipe with flowmaster exhaust, and a K&N RAI.
Considering 4.10 gears, JLT CAI, ford racing aluminum driveshaft and BBK UDPs. Open season on the gears though, I was thinking 3.73s might be better conditions for the twin screw. And of course a tune, possibly 91 octane, to set the car up properly. You may now criticsize/suggest.

sounds good. youll get rid of the plenum. underdrives will thow off the boost level for a given pulley. but i dont see why you cant run 'em.
as far as gears i dont think 4:10s are out of this world but others do. |

I have the tri-ax and love it. I have 3.73's and do a lot of highway driving which means you will miss the better gas mileage. 4.10's are even worse. Good luck.

So are the gears necessary at all for the twin screw ?

I think 4:10's with a Kb is too much. sometimes I wish I had the 3:27's back. Don't know why you would want the under drive pulleys, but if thats what you want just do the math and get the smaller blower pulley.as far as the tune,I run KB's that is supplied.some people rag on that, but mine runs great.true it may be conservative, but on a stock block thats what you want. if you have alot of bolt ons then you will want a dyno tune. as far as bolt-on's I suggest a 75mm tb,90mm mass, good cai, catback(KB dyno testing showed liitle gains with headers, like 2 hp)and maybe a fuel pump upgrade(they supply a 20 amp bap)

Yeah 4.10s will be WAY to much gear for you. 3.73 is crazy as is for me. dont do udp, just stick with stock. It will mess up boost. And i recommend getting a real tune and just using the chip to get to a dyno.

long tubes back, cai, maf, 75mm t/b, coils, and head work & cams if you want to go that far. do not run udp's, you will not be able to make up the boost with any pulley that will fit on the s/c snout. i suggest 3.73's for gearing. i have 4.10's on nitrous and hate them. if you abuse the car, then shifter is a must. plus control arms, and i suggest at least welding up the torque boxes.

Motive or ford racing gears? I read somewhere they were the same thing. American muscle has a sweet deal on the motives. I just picked up the driveshaft on ebay for $251.98 ford racing aluminum.

As a few have said, don't do 4.10's. I had 4.10's ith mine and there was no suck thing as traction. If I do it over I think I'd go with a 3.55. Had I done that in the first place my car might still be here.
As for the parts you can use before hand, I'd put on headers a new mid pipe and a cat back. You can keep your 75mm tb but you might want to look into replaceing the K&N CAI. It will void the KB warranty b/c it places the filter in the engine bay. The CAI you can get from KB is pretty good, plus it comes with the 90mm MAF for 500 more.

Man thats unfortunate, I'm gonna do suspension and brakes first, because stock brakes can barely handle my underpowered pony of a car, I can only imagine the horrors of a full out steed.

4.10s are not much worse then 3.73s. Maybe .25-.5 mpg worse. At 80 mph with 3.73s he'll be at about 2400 rpm, 4.10s will be at about 2600 rpm.
