i had a lot of the same problems with VT when i ordered my rotating assembly, namely that people weren't updating me. i placed an order and the pistons were backordered, which they neglected to tell me. i went for about a month getting updates that were at best sporadic, nobody knew when the parts were coming in. nobody answered the phone when i called, and emails would go unanswered for a week at a time. i placed my order Sept 24 and finally got the refund for the order last week...
i went with them because everything i had heard about them was great, but if this is how they're going to be doing business, i'm done with them. i'll take my business elsewhere...

It is still going on,would not surprise me if VT engines inc goes bankrupt, owner taking money and not paying vendors(VT competion engines),thus no engines shipped to customers.

our club president is friends with scott and his family. ive been told it's out of scotts hands and he is in fact out several thousands in personal loses.

some of you might not know but vt is split. Scott and jim on one side and another company that does a lot of the building on the other side.

Sean Hyland Motorsport. it's been a great experience so far. first off, i called them and someone actually answered the phone! i talked to one of their techs about what i was planning for my build, and the information he gave me was consistent with the info in the book that Sean Hyland wrote called "How to Build Max-Performance 4.6-Liter Ford Engines". i've gotten emails and phone calls whenever the status of my order changes. and they had all the parts in stock...
should be shipping this week sometime...

I never had a problem with vt beside one accident which only set me back a week... they ordered stroker rods instead of the normal forged ones. Always answered the phone, or called me back within the hour if i left a message.

yes they were a great a company. but all of this just happened recently. they were split for a while but it seems it went down hill fast at the beginning of November

so far the problems seem to be limited to the engines....not the parts they sell. But if Vt goes out of business I have no idea what they will do about parts sales

I gave them $8K while I was in the sandbox...That was for a fully built longblock with all the goodies...

Waited 2 months...No word back from them...The engine had not arrived...Nothing had happened...I called them...They asked me for $500 more dollars...And they could not tell me what the extra $500 was for...I went off...I had them send me back my $8000 dollars and told them I would take my business elsewhere...

Well I ordered valve springs from them. two months later if finally got my money back. They never were able to get me my product, and never updated me ethier. I wish i could say good words about them, but they wouldnt return my calls, emails, or anything.

Ah i did my stuff like 6 or 7 months ago, probably a bit longer. Thats probably why. They did forget the oil pump with my short block but fixed their mistake by overnighting it free of charge.
