Patriot Heads?

Stage II Patriot Performance heads and a comp XE262AH cam. The heads will be $1295 and the cams will be $575.00.....this is what the guy from patriot performance said would work well with my car, are there heads good or should i buy from someone else. I want the cam to be big enough to give me a very mean lope so is this cam big enough.

Patriot Used To Have A Bad Reputation

Patriot used to have a bad reputation a few years ago but it's much better now. They sell some pretty good heads for the money.

Patriot heads are pretty good. That's what I have. Just check the plugs in the back of them that block off the unused oil passages and make sure they're tight. The VT cams have a more aggressive chop to them and they don't have a 5 degree advance ground into them so you don't have to degree them when you install them.

Save your money !!! Patriot bought all the heads from ford that were not even up to fords standards to use, they are called Blems (short for blemish). They say they have resolved their troubles, do you really want to chance finding out the hard way. Do a search on most any forum you'll see dozens of failures.

I have 270's on my 5.5L. They're great for my combo. Lope is mild but definitely there.

I hear VT Engines is having problems, so I wouldn't send any money their way until things get fixed.

Patriot Heads are junk in my book...I know they have supposedly fixed all the valve issues and such that were giving them issues but I am still hearing the horror stories...

Im going with a set of 2.5 heads from Modular PowerHouse

They have the best heads hands down IMHO...

Steen Racing Website also have some AWESOME heads from what I ahve seen and heard...Actually Steen is going to be building MPH's heads comign here soon...

This is fact, you may not believe it but it is true. Ford had 1000's that had issues that could have led to a major recall. I know I could still pick these heads up myself, why would I want to use junk.

Well with the tune the idle set so high its not as noticeable as it used to be.. I used to have the stock idle at about 750-800 rpms and the lope caused to to lose vacuum and shut off.. So i had it retuned to idle at 900rpms after warmup...But view a vid of a stock mustang.. you should notice a difference.

And btw, the heads i have are Steen Racing Stage 2 heads...I agree w/ chris..Awesome..

Boss330 racing. He's in Vero Beach FL and has a great reputation with modular engine work. I think he's pretty expensive but never heard a single bad thing about his work.

The web site is unfinished and sucks, but it's got a contact # on it.

You guys do know that noone makes an aftermarket head for the 4.6 right? They are all ford heads that have been ported with the springs and valves changed. What exactly were the problems Patriot was having with there heads?

Modular powerhouse wants over 2 thousand dollars for there heads. That's very very expensive compared to Patriot.

Theres a reason why there heads are more expensive...They are better...But MPH is now going to have Steen doing their heads so its goodtimes...

Some issues just to name a few...Warped heads coming out of the box...Sparkplug threads falling out of the heads right out of the box...Bad valves...Exessive oil consumption...And many more...They say they have fixed the issue but from what I have seen and heard they are far from being fixed...
