Switching Stock Midpipe With X-Pipe

i know that when i installed my cat-back exhaust i had to cut the stock pipes to remove them, when i remove the stock h-pipe to replace it with the bbk x-pipe will i have to do any cutting or will it just be remove and replace?

also if i wanted to put the stock h-pipe back on, would i be able to?

When i got my x-pipe it was custom made...they cut out my stock h and had to fabricate some piping to flow correctly into the x-pipe from the stock manifolds. Also, the mufflers might be in a different position once the x-pipe is installed because the pipes come out at an angle on some applications. in that case...you will need to bend some piping so that your tail pipes and tips come out straight. thats what the shop had to do with my stang...but like i said it was all custom so if you buy a pre-fab x, it should bolt up to the manifolds depending on whether or not your gonna have cats.

even if its prefabbed, you still may have to bend the pipes a tad to make it fit good. oputting on my h-pipe to my l/t we had to bend the pipes out a little bit. and they were even made by the same company to bolt up together

I bought my bassani x pipe and it fit right up, didn't give me any trouble except where the two pieces fit together I used a little heat tape and it was fine. It is a bitch getting them to bolt up to the headers though.

My Bassani catted x fit perfectly with my Borlas. Getting the factory h pipe was kind of PITA due to reaching the passenger side nuts. Once that was off it was easy as butter. Good luck with your install.

I bassani x-pipe went on like a breeze...No issues here...Went right where it was supposed to go and bolted up like a dream...I guess you get what you pay for when it comes to a mid-pipe...

I think it would have been easier if I hadnt kept getting mad at it. I would fight with it and my dad was standing outside the car laughing at me arguing with it. Helps when you can focus on what you're doing I guess.

Well it prolly also helped that I do all my work on a lift and have access to any tool you could think of for working on a ford...I did not have to crawl under the car or anything so maybe that is why it was so much easier for me...

The right tools and a lift can make your life so much better. You are very lucky to have access to that.

I put a pacifica performance x pipe on, like in this article:

http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...hale/index.php

it came in three pieces and the actual install was easy except for the pass. side manifold is hard to get to. It would have been much easier if I would have used PB blaster on the old manifold bolts, nuts, etc.....

I used ramps and jack stands, inside garage, luckily I am pretty slim but even then there is no friggin room under there.
