Frustrated big time

SAE corrections, altitude, humidty, temps, etc....to tough to base your expectations on that.
My expectations where to be much faster.
I understand what your saying BUT just looking at my 1/4 mile times I've gained nothing. .2 lost in the 60ft. equal or slower in the 1/4 mile. RPM peak nowhere near my power band at the trap. I'm just totally frustrated. I've contacted one of the best tuners in the country and probably will be taking it to him soon.

I'd be looking for around 325, with a safe tune on 91-92 octane fuel, and I would be concerned for sure, if it was less than 300. If not, there are 2 issues to consider- a problem with the car, which your tuner should have an idea or an answer for your results. There is a tremendous proliferation of tuners now, and maybe 2-3% really know what is going on. In addition, a truly qualified tuner will have an intimate knowledge of all areas of the drivetrain, motor design and characteristics, and especially how the control system works. This is rarely the case.

There are two problems facing consumers:

Competence: This one's easy. Few are qualified to tune cars, PERIOD.

Ethics: Usually comes into play from problem #1-someone has to pay to be the guinea pig, and/or pay for the alleged tuner's mistakes.

I would let the tuner know, that either by message or certified letter(if they do not return calls), and after giving them a fair shake on doing "something:, at least to show they are concerned, then you might pursue it further. However, what I have seen over time is to take your lumps, and make damn sure you get your doggone car to a competent tuner ASAP.

you cant expect the same results as a motor out of a mag to many factors. i would try to get with the people who tuned your car and talk with them. when we first dynoed my 93 lx i was not happy either numbers were low, but then we fixed a few things and picked up a lot of power. my last dyno there was big hp gains by changing cams and exaust.
