Heads/Cams
Ok...after much thinking i am going to begin to purchase everything that i need for new heads and cams for my cobra over the winter and then get them all installed at one time when spring comes back around. If anybody can help me choose which heads and cams would be the best it would be greatly appreciated. My final plans for the car is to go with a turbo if that matters and i would also like it to be able to still be my daily driver. I hope that i dont sound stupid but i just want to know both what would be best together and exactly all of the parts that i need would be so no surprises come at me when i am trying to get them installed. o ya, if i get new heads does that mean that i need new headers too??

you wont need new headers. as for the cams, that is iffy for what you want to do. boost cams are different than n/a cams. you can buy boost cams and be ok if you want to sacrifice a little power till you get the boost.

Why even get heads? Your 32v isnt a bad flowing head and if you still want it to be a D.D even after boost I don't think you will ever reach the limits on your factory heads. I just dont see a real reason to drop all that money on something your really dont need. As for cams. I have crower blower cams and love them but VT makes a good product as does Comp cams.

If you port them you will see a gain. Better power for the boost you are running. It is still a game of efficiency, the more efficient the more power from less input. Less fuel, less boost, more power. But, none the less, he is right, when boosting. The cost to port and polish is going to more than the cost to put on a smaller pully or turn up the boost. In a turbo its soo easy to add more power, its almost not worth it unless your going for some unreal numbers. 1000+ I'd say, do the cams, don't do the port.

The heads on the 01 are fine. You might want to get boost cams but its not neccessary. They are really expensive and really not worth it for power gains. You could just do a blower for that price and also if you want to play safe and do motor work before the blower you could use that money for a forged bottom end. Not alot of people with cobras do head and cam work. The heads are nice and if you want to booster cams that wouldnt be a bad idea once you decide to forge the motor.

Boost gets you laid

agreed. your first priority is going to be getting forged internals. the stock heads and cams will support 600 hp easily with no porting or anything. if you go turbo, make sure you get forged internals. they are your weakest point and they will limit you to 450rwhp. once you get a forged rotating assembly and a turbo, you should be running plenty of power for a daily driver. heads and cams are only necessary if you plan on going crazy, like 1000 horsepower.

If this is your daily driver I wouldnt get a turbo. If you get in any kind of race on the street you'd be better off getting forged internals and a kenne bell, then you would have power sooner instead of waiting on the turbo to wind up. Then again I believe there are some things that arent involved in real racing: E-Brakes, Excuses and 40mph rolls.
