Shocks and Struts?

At what time is it suitable to go ahead and replace factory shocks and struts? are the factory shocks and struts any good to get again? or should i go with some pep boys "big" brand (bilstein) or autozone "big" brand (gabriel)? im not looking to spend a large amount of change on this but i would like recommendations as to which would suffice a DD and last long and keep a good ride quality!

Stocks aren't half bad since they are Monroe sensatracs. But I would look into other brands away from stock if you are in the market.

the stock strut on Mach 1's are tokico's, just like on the Bullitt. i have those tokico's on my car and they're great for the price. they're non-adjustable. it really all depends on what your plans are for the car.

they're pricier, but you get what you pay for. there's a reason bilstein's were OEM on the termie's...

the termi's are irs and i am not 100% on it they will work. the fronts will, but not sure on the rear. like stated above, the bilsteins are high $$$. finding a set for cheap will be tough. you can get tokico's, or kyb agx's cheaper.

external adjustable dials. not that hard to adjust, but the rears will be covered by the trunk trim.

its the other way around. firm is for handling, and will take a lot of abuse of daily driving. on the track, you want the car to weight transfer. the rears will need to be soft. the fronts will need to be stiffer to get the front to hold the weight to the back. but all of the settings are a trial and error thing for all people to get it exactly the way they want.

i agree too, but misinformation is the worse thing. i can stand back on some topics and watch, but if it is early i will chime in and state my 2 cents. i am not the type to argue, but i wont stand back and let wrong info get passed around.
