once i get the supercharger payed off i am having a forged mmr 4.6 with patriot stage 2 heads so i can run 20 psi of boost and i will more than likely run a 75 shot but not sure yet about nitrous, still kicking it around.

How do you like that manifold? Also what does it run (cost)?

I run a Novi 2000 as well but with no inter-cooler @ 8psi (sent off for rebuild and pully upgrade though). Dont be shocked but unless you are running 18-20 psi that will rob you of quite a bit of power. The blower is so large that is isnt really working unless its spinning at high PSI levels. So the intercooler is just further routing already "cool" air and taking away some gains. That is only at lower boost levels though. If you plan on going o 20 then you will end up getting very good use out of it.

Either way 8psi is still a lot of fun.

Are you running any internal or head work? Car looks good and looks like it will be a monster very soon.

I find your statements regarding psi and intercooling interesting. Now I run a Procharger with a 3 row intercooler at 9 psi and we found a significant horespower loss (as much as 15 to 20 hp) when the temps would rise above 115. Because the car is not in motion on a dyno the temps would gradually rise after 2 or 3 pulls and the horsepower readings would begin to drop. The portable fans could not keep up. We would then have to wait 30 minutes or so for the temp to drop so we could perform another 2 or 3 pulls again. Are you saying that a Novi responds differently? Because in theory, it should not.

Oh nice job dcrow on your car. Looks nice!

What procharger do you run?

And yes the Novi 2000 responds a bit different do to the deign of their intercooler.

Remember the Novi 2000 is Paxtons biggest street blower. It is good to 29 PSI. So at 8 psi it is barely evening turning and not really producing that much heat. If you had the 1000 verson this would be a bit different but then you are limited on how far you can push your blower.

If you have big things in mind (and run a Paxton). then the Novi 2000 is for you. If you only plan on running 8 psi and thats it, then I would suggest the 1000 model.

I am bumping up to 12-16 psi right now (havent made up my mind). For now I am forgoing a intercooler. I plan on doing a few other things to keep temp down but if I do not need a intercooler I am not going to install one.

If I was thinking of going into the 18+ psi levels though I would not do without one (never plan on going that with that much boost).

the only reason i got the intercooler is because i live in texas and it gets very humid and hot here and once i get the charger paid down i am having a mmr forged motor built with patriot stage 2 heads so i can run 20 pounds of boost and also decided to run a 75 shot.the intercooler actually helps out alot it drops the air going in the motor almost 100 degrees,so i figured that was well worth it.

i wanted the intercooler for peace of mind and also i know in the future i will be running a forged motor and will be running alot more boost.there are a couple of guys that have intercoolers so i guess i was steered a little bit.i do have to say,i agree with nate 4.6 if you have no intentions of running more than 8 to 10 psi the intercooler is not worth it especially when it cost 1500-1600 dollars.i am also sending my piping off to have powder coated.
ADVICE FOR GUYS WHO HAVE A BULLITT AND PLAN ON BOOSTING!!!!
WHEN YOU BUY THE KIT,THEY DONOT TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO CHANGE OUT THE WATER PUMP
PULLEY BECAUSE ON THE BULLITT THE WATER PUMP PULLEY AND ALTERNATOR PULLEY ARE LARGER.
SO TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT I HAD TO INSTALL REGULAR GT PULLIES.
