Front end help

I have a noise coming from the front end of my car, on the passenger side. It's something in the steering I am sure. I am hearing a noise like metal on metal. Mostly when I turn the wheel to the right. I have the car up on stands and the front wheels off, and everything looks normal. The shock on the drivers side is oily and has a heavy rub mark on it, but that looks to be normal. If you guys need some pics let me know soon, it's getting dark and I gotta drive her again tomorrow...

I can't tell. They don't look bad to me...

It started last summer when I hydroplaned in FL. The car hit the curb on the drivers side, but the noise is deff. comming from the passneger side.

Not sure on that mark, but probably from my hand. It was some road grime or something. It wiped off with my finger, bne there was no abbrasion to the sway bar when I felt on it. It's not close enough for the tire to rub, and there's no marks on the tires anyhow...

Not bottoming out any, just making noise when I turn. I have heard some small rattling while on bumpy roads, so the shock/shocks may be busted somewhat, but it's never hit bottom...

yes. the thin piece of metal.

they do come loose once in a while.
if you have a buddy with you hop in the car and slowly turn the wheel to see if you can catch the sound and maybe pinpoint it.
it might not work though because of the whole "weight bearing" thing. (which you can fix by simulating with a jack)

That's a good idea, but it only happens when the car is moving...

Nothing on the heat shields either, no rub marks, bolts were all tight and no scratches or dents...

this might be a stupid question, but is there any possibility it could be power steering related?

that would be more of a whine than a metal sound but I see where your coming from.
