Start out shifting at 6k on all gears. You'll start to learn where the power stops at the more trips you take down the 1/4... Do you have any mods? Tires? Driver mod?

Power in a stock Mach peaks at 5800 rpm, but that doesn't mean that's where you should shift. Even though you might be making more power at 4500 rpm in 3rd gear, for example, then at 6800 rpm in 2nd gear, you're still in a MUCH shorter gear. For example, if I had two cars that were EXACTLY the same exept one had 300 HP and one had 350 HP. If the one with 350 HP started out in 4th gear (gear ratio 1.00), and the other car with 300 HP started out in 3rd gear (1.32 gear ratio) (let's say both cars top out at 105 mph in 3rd gear) ... which one do you think is gonna get to 105 mph faster?

If I were you, I would run my car all the way to redline.
